In July 2024, landslides severely damaged Shree Janasewa Basic School in the remote community of Phulibang, Nepal. Walls cracked, classrooms became unsafe, and children were forced into temporary learning spaces.
Schools for Nepal is now partnering with the local community to rebuild the school as a safe, earthquake-resilient learning environment for the 17 children who rely on it.
This project marks our fifth school-building project in Nepal, continuing five years of helping communities create safe places for children to learn and thrive.
The Need
The current school building is unsafe and at risk of further deterioration. A new three-room school building will provide:
Safe, permanent classrooms
Electricity and improved facilities
Running water and sanitation
A secure learning environment for future generations
How Your Donation Helps
$1,785 furnishes classrooms with tables and learning resources
$1,970 helps install electricity
$5,040 funds the new roof
$5,910 provides a toilet block with running water
